I've put together a survey about the Small Internet (, , individual webpages, small community sites) and I would love your input. If you are a small internet user, please spend a few minutes and fill in your thoughts. I'm especially interested in the open response questions. This will help inform an upcoming conference talk I'll be giving at mch2022.org

Also, please boost this on fedi as much as possible and feel free to re-share on other social networks and in other communities. The more responses the better.

Interestingly there was an anti "pride mass" protest in front of the church across the street. Busy morning for folks.

Pro-lifers out in force today at the clinic. Not sure why more today, maybe Father's Day weekend?

About a quarter the way through listening to Xenocide by OSC. Book 3, still liking the series

Everything seasoning is ironically not for everything.

Came across this post about fountain pens today:
Gemini://gemini.dimakrasner.co

And I had no idea that there was such a... Community for the fountain pen world. I want to try it out but the options make it feel like I don't have the time to invest.

Those of us who were around for the first dotcom bubble remember Fucked Company as our disaster porn of choice.

@web3isgreat is filling that role for the current bubble. Train wreck after train wreck. You can't stop looking.

#gemini #programming #C
I'm creating a new Gemini browser in C with Ncurses, named (very creatively) Gemcurses.

It's actually my first project in C, so my code is messy and I'm sure it has a ton of bugs, but it somewhat works!

It requires only Ncurses and OpenSSL libraries.

Feel free to check it out, and tell me what you think and what i need to fix/change/add :)

It took me quite a while to realize the asterisk meant hard mode

So my brain continues to be intrigued by the availability of a RSS feed. I’ve had an account here since, I think, 2017 or so.. but never knew this was an option.

Now my mind is firing with ways to connect Mastodon to other services via RSS. For example using IFTTT to cross-post from Mastodon. Or pulling it into an aggregator site.

The key point is that you can easily pull your (public) posts OUTSIDE of Mastodon. They aren’t locked in.

This is glorious. These are rotary LTE cell phones, USB-C charged, with mechanical ringers.

Started book 2 of the ender series: Speaker for the Dead. I'm really enjoying these novels. Especially the readers as they make it engaging.
