And now as mysteriously as it began, it's fixed! ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

Weird network issue today. I can resolve tilde.town in my browser, but SSH tells me there's a temporary DNS failure. When I try grabbing the IP address from my browser and SSHing to that, SSH tells me the network is unreachable.

Could be a local issue since this is a work computer and it was just updated, but it's been fine up until now.

Sipping cognac and watching a course on VPS security on a rainy Thursday evening.

Lately have had my head in "metaverse" space (as in Snow Crash), and I'm convinced Open Cobalt (opencobalt.net/home) is the closest thing we have right now (a spinoff from Croquet as seen in this 2003 demo: youtube.com/watch?v=cXGLOiZUZ2).

However, that appears to have died from lack of research funding or something, so I'm investigating more current branches of Smalltalk (e.g. Pharo).

The story so far:
In the beginning the Internet was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
