I am glad I journaled consistently last year as it allowed me to put a lot of introspection into my next goals and in this note to myself

@melyanna The "you are the project" idea is inspiring, I should do something similar and put it somewhere I'd see it as often as possible. I also didn't know about the zero-sum concept, thanks for sharing this.

@ice I am almost done transferring last year's notes, and I hadn't realised until now that I have reviewed them how useful journaling has been.
It definitely helps keeping"your eyes on the target" with short and long-term goals.
The concept of "You are the project" comes from a book on stoicism that contains daily meditations and exercises, called "The daily stoic" by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselmam. I highly recommend it.
I will definitely add it to the resources in my garden once I am done with transferring my notes.

@melyanna The book looks great, thanks! The reviews are really good, I think I’ll get a copy for this year, I’m a sucker for daily routines. It’s probably very different, but it reminds me a bit of The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson, which is also about stoicism but with a rather personal tone. An interesting read if you don’t know it.

@ice I had heard of this book then forgot about it somehow. Thank you for suggesting it - I have put it in my wish-list for now (my birthday is in February).
I'll get it for myself if it doesn't come by then from a friend or relative.
