So many pages that describes digital modes on HF at a high level, and maybe sometimes giving audio file samples, but *not* *one* document anywhere which details how the modulation actually works.

Not. One.

@vertigo Could be, I just grabbed an interesting picture from somewhere for the post.

On second look, it does appear to be PSK since the eye remains definite, and the phase appears to be inverting.

@nonlinear @SDF The picture shows FSK31, but shouldn't it be PSK31? ;)

aprsd(8) now supports multiple beacons, including position reports (with and without timestamps) and object beacons.

The next step is going to be to add digipeating, which means taking the beacon loop and adding a check for incoming packets, and then repeating them if required.

I'm going to start off with one "listen" interface and one "transmit" interface and go from there.

Still playing with @solderpunk's ROOPHLOCH challenge methods ( https://gopher.tildeverse.org/zaibatsu.circumlunar.space/1/~solderpunk/roophloch ). Today was setting up an AX.25 link @ 9600 baud and running telnet to the RasPi on the other end.

Mobile end was an X series lappy and a D74 linked via Bluetooth (USB sometimes generated RF feedback causing the bus to reset).

Next step is to set up S/KEY on the RasPi. Random #showerthought : this might be a fun take on a pubnix box. 🤔

Lots more fun ideas rattling around in this space that I really need to write down. I should pop on @radiofreqs and post up.

Think I've "derisked" the main bits of going from RF to fediverse.

Next step will be different message types, then I'll try handling actual messages.

Calling #CQ on 146.52 today on my HT that's remotely controlling my rig in the car for higher power. It's using the locked band repeater function of the Kenwood TM-D710G. So my little .5w HT on the 440 side is retransmitting at 50w on 146.52. Now hopefully I can hear anybody that might come back to me on my HT directly since I'm not using my car's rig in cross band mode. Let's all use .52 people! :) #hamradio #listeningtostatic #whitenoise
