political snark, death penalty

It's so nice that the US has six Catholic judges on the Supreme Court.

The Church is so adamantly against the death penalty that the Catechism calls it "inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person" and the Catholic Church "works with determination for its abolition worldwide." Just over one year ago Pope Francis published Fratelli Tutti, making this stance abundantly clear and a priority for the Church as a whole.

I'm certain we're going to see those values come through in the court room today. There's just no way they would...

a) There's a discussion of how #Catholic #judges should consider the #DeathPenalty at scholarship.law.nd.edu/law_fac

b) Opposition to the death penalty is such an essential feature of Catholic teaching that I find en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ on Wikipedia.
