A couple things I’ve been digging lately from the world of old fashioned, capital-R Rock music:


1- the fact that Phil Collins not only played drums on both of Robert Plant’s early 80s, slicked-up adult contemporary albums (which hold up surprisingly well btw), but even went on tour with him, — all right in the same time frame that his own solo career and Genesis were at the peak of their popularity. The drums on “In the Mood” are particularly solid and in the pocket, even for my dude Phil

2- the bass tone on the Pete Townshend solo version of “Pure and Easy”
